About System Check
A system check is automatically performed when you select the System Check link on the Sign in page or at the top-right of any Benchmark Universe page. It confirms your hardware and software compatibility based on Benchmark Universe system requirements.
About System Requirements
System Requirements provide you with information about the type of hardware and software you need in order for Benchmark Universe resources to operate effectively and run smoothly. We want our teachers and students to have the best user experience so periodically check out our system requirements to get the latest information on supported devices, operating systems, browsers, and more.
System Requirements by Device, Whitelist, Cookie Settings, and Javascript
For the Technical Administrator setting up Benchmark Universe
We recommend that you run a system check on each configuration used in your district by using the System Check link. In addition, Benchmark Universe URLs must be added to your whitelist to ensure that all Benchmark Universe resources are recognized as safe websites to use. See Whitelist for more information.
About Javascript
Javascript must be enabled in order for Benchmark Universe to load properly. The following message is shown if Javascript is disabled on any computer in your school or district.
- Javascript is disabled. Please enable Javascript and refresh the page in order to use Benchmark Universe.
About Audio autoplay
If you use Mozilla Firefox as your primary browser you may notice that the audio does not automatically play when you turn the pages. This is because the newer versions of Firefox have autoplay disabled by default. To correct this, users can follow this link to enable autoplay. This has to be done only once and can be done on a site by site basis. If you use Safari as your primary browser you may see audio play buttons within the text, since Safari has autoplay disabled by default. To correct this, users can enable autoplay in the browser under Preferences, Websites, and Auto-Play. This has to be done only once.
About Browsers
We support the last four stable versions of the browsers listed below. We do not test our functionality with browser extensions other than those meant to support accessibility (such as Screen Reader). Some browser extensions (such as Google Translate) may inhibit functionality and should be disabled.
For Teachers using Benchmark Universe
Check with your Technical Administrator if Benchmark Universe resources or pages are not loading properly and ensure that the URLs have been added to your school or district's whitelist.
